Managing Imported Credit Report Items
Overview
After importing a customer's credit report, the software organizes all imported data into different sections to help you manage your disputes efficiently. This includes the items you selected for dispute, items you chose not to dispute, and any remaining items after dispute results have been processed.
This article explains where imported items are stored, how to manage them during the dispute process, and how to prepare for future dispute rounds.
Import the Customer's Credit Report
Before you can manage imported items, you must first import the customer's credit report.
Go to Dispute Manager.
Select the Import Credit Report tab.
Verify that the customer's credit monitoring credentials have been saved.
Click Import Credit Report.
Once the report is imported, the software displays the customer's:
Personal Information
Public Records
Negative Accounts
Inquiries
Positive Accounts
During this step, you can:
Select the items you want to dispute.
Add dispute reasons and instructions for the selected items.
When you're finished, click Next.
The software will import all credit report data and move you to the Dispute Manager tab.
Understanding the Imported Item Sections
Under Step 2 – Review Selected Items, you'll find two sections that organize the imported credit report data.
Marked for Dispute
The Marked for Dispute section contains all items you selected during the credit report import.
Depending on your selections, this section may include:
Personal Information
Negative Accounts
Public Records
Inquiries
Positive Accounts
These are the items that are currently prepared for dispute.
Not Marked for Dispute
The Not Marked for Dispute section contains all imported items that were not selected during the import process.
This section commonly includes:
Positive Accounts
Unselected Personal Information
Unselected Negative Accounts
Unselected Public Records
Unselected Inquiries
These items remain available if you decide to dispute them in a future round.
Managing Items After Dispute Results
After sending your dispute letters and running Check New Updates, the software updates your imported items automatically.
If an item is successfully deleted from the customer's credit report:
The deleted item is automatically removed from your active dispute list.
For example:
If you disputed three negative accounts and all three were deleted, the Marked for Dispute section will no longer show those accounts.
This allows you to quickly see which items remain on the customer's credit report.
Preparing the Next Dispute Round
When you're ready to begin another dispute round:
Review the Marked for Dispute section to see any remaining active dispute items.
Review the Not Marked for Dispute section to identify additional items that have not yet been disputed.
Select the items you want to dispute next.
Move the selected items into the Marked for Dispute section.
Add or update dispute reasons and instructions as needed.
Continue creating your next round of disputes.
Best Practices
Review imported credit report data carefully before selecting items for dispute.
Only move items to Marked for Dispute when you're ready to include them in the current dispute round.
After reviewing dispute results, check both sections to determine which items remain.
Use the Not Marked for Dispute section to prepare future dispute rounds without importing the credit report again.
Regularly review your imported items to keep dispute rounds organized and focused.
